The xx returned to the stage with the first of three completely sold-out shows at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City. The performances mark the beginning of a tour that will see the British band appear at several festivals across the Americas, Europe and Japan.
On the opening night, the trio revisited not only songs from their three studio albums — xx (2009), Coexist (2012) and I See You (2017) — but also some of the most significant tracks from the solo careers of Jamie xx, Oliver Sim and Romy. During the band's creative hiatus, all three members hinted that a new project was in the works; the Mexico City shows mark the beginning of that new chapter.
